How to retain Edit Rights for Previous Opportunity Owners

You can now choose to keep the previous opportunity team together when an opportunity is transferred to a new owner in Lightning Experience. You can also choose to let the previous owner retain read/write access after the switch.

The Retain edit rights for previous owner option becomes available when Keep Opportunity Team is selected.

Make sure opportunity record has at least one user added to the Opportunity Team Members related list.

Salesforce will retain the previous Opportunity Owner's Edit access. It just updates the group membership related records from Full to Edit, rather than fully removing them and for new owner and users above the hierarchy, it will create new records as usual.

Note:
This feature is only applicable if the OWD of the Opportunity is set to Private and the current owner is part of the Opportunity Teams.

  1. How did you make the Keep Opportunity Team checkbox visible in the prompt when you change opportunity owner. My instance currently had only Send notification email, and I can't find where to add a checkbox on this screen.

  2. Hey,does that mean that both me(previous owner) and other owner have the edit rights? For example, can that other owner make the edit changes in that opportunity section in lightening if I marked the "retain edit rights for previous owner(which was me)"?
Thank you in advance for your response.
