“You haven’t selected an answer to your password hint” Exception in Salesforce

Exception:

You Cannot Reset your Password You Haven’t Selected an Answer to Your Password Hint. Try the Following: Contact your Company’s Administrator for Assistance.

This Exception is thrown when the Question/Answer for hints is not set when the users password are set.

1. Check the Login History of the user and make sure the Account is not locked due to Invalid Password attempts. If the account is locked, unlock the user account to resolve the issue.

2. If you are an admin(System Administrator) and got locked, reach out to Salesforce Support.

3. If you are not an admin(System Administrator), reach out to your company’s Salesforce Admin. Your admin can go to Users in Setup and reset your password by clicking the Reset Password Button. It is recommended to set Question/Answer for hints when you reset the password.
